Teach Monologue your words

Improve names, acronyms, and specialized vocabulary with your dictionary.

Use the dictionary for words that are important to you but uncommon in everyday speech: people, company names, product names, acronyms, and technical terms.

Add a word

1. Open Monologue and select Dictionary.
2. Add the word exactly as you want it written.
3. Add a replacement when the spoken form and written form differ.

For example, you can map a commonly misheard pronunciation to the correct product name. Keep each entry focused; a short list of precise terms works better than paragraphs of instructions.

Import an existing dictionary

If you already use another voice tool, Monologue can import dictionaries from Aqua Voice, Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Willow Voice. Open Dictionary, choose the import option, and follow the prompts for your source app.

If a word is still wrong

• Confirm the entry uses the spelling and capitalization you want.
• Remove duplicate or conflicting entries.
• Speak the full phrase naturally instead of isolating the word.
• Submit the affected dictation with 👎 so support can inspect the exact example.
