History and recent transcripts

Find, copy, retry, or report a recent dictation on Mac.

The Mac app keeps a History view for recent dictations. Use it when a paste went to the wrong app, you need an earlier result, or you want to report a quality problem.

Open Home in Monologue and find the dictation in your recent history. From a transcript you can:

  • Copy the result.
  • Play the source audio when it is available.
  • Retry processing after a recoverable failure.
  • Delete the transcript.
  • Reveal a related local file in Finder when that option is available.
  • Send positive or negative feedback.

The Home view also shows recent activity for quick access.

When pasting fails

Use the Paste last transcript shortcut, or open History and copy the result manually. If Monologue displays Copied or App changed, it preserved the result on the clipboard because it could not safely paste into the original text field.

For repeated paste failures, see Fix dictation and pasting.
